Description

Round black faux leather hatbox with zipper close and handle. The zipper has a lock attached to the pull tab which fits into a metal attachment on the base. The base, or foot, of the box also has three brass colored knobs. The handle, made of black vinyl, can lay relatively flat and is attached to the box by brass colored metal loops. The interior is black with an elasticized pocket and a small mirror in the lid. The manufacturer, Munro, has a label on the inside which identifies this box as a Carryall. Female Salvation Army officers and soldiers would use a hatbox to transport their bonnets to protect them from damage.
