Scope and Content

Picture postcard of the Chicago Staff Band. The image depicts a group of men, each dressed in a Salvation Army uniform and holding a brass instrument, seated and standing. A man holding the large drum is sitting on the left side and a small drum is on the right side. The following text is printed in white just under the men: "Stevens Schiller Bldg Chicago" on the left and on the right, "Columbian Eng. Co. Chi.". The back of the postcard is addressed to Master Geo B Davis, 568 North 52 Ave, Austin, ILL. A green one cent U.S. Postage stamp with an image of Benjamin Franklin in left profile. The postmark is Chicago, ILL / Apr 19 / 6 pm. A message, written in green ink, is on the left side and is signed GHD.
