Black and white photograph with printed caption "BIG FRENCH SEARCHLIGHT COMBING THE SKY FOR PLANES." The picture is taken at night, so the sky is black. Four French(?) military men stand around a large searchlight. They appear to be in a field and the searchlight's beam projects up diagonally into the dark sky.
