Description
Olive drab green wool woman's blouse with fold over collar with rounded front edges. Blouse closes center front with buttons and three hook and thread eyes at neck. The hooks are no longer attached to the blouse. Collar neck band is lined with a silky brown twill fabric. Blouse has two chest pockets with pointed flap closures that are fastened with buttons. Long sleeves end with a wrist band that closes with two buttons. A narrow belt made of silky feeling brown twill fabric is sewn to the back of the blouse, and the body of the shirt is slightly gathered where the belt is sewn down. The belt fastens center front with one hook and eye. All seams, except for the armseye, are pinked with a large scalloped edge.
Style of blouse and signs of age appear to be consistent with those blouses worn by female Salvation Army War Service workers as seen in World War I photographs.
