Cream/ecru paper with a printed black, double-line border. Titled "Certificate of Promotion" (black). Certificate heading detailing (printed in black, blue, red, and yellow) includes The Salvation Army Seal (United States) with four American and two Salvation Army flags, flanked by two globes with text "THE WORLD" and "FOR CHRIST" over them. Surrounding this imagery is an ionic structure, with entablature supported by two colums. The text "THE SALVATION ARMY" is across the the architrave, from which part of a sun rises.
