Fragment from the book (historical) "Illinois in The World War," first published by the Illinois State Historical Library in Springfield, Illinois in 1921. The fragment is one chapter, stapled together in two places along the lefthand side. The title of the chapter is "THE SALVATION ARMY" and was edited by Commissioner Thomas Estill. Above the title is a circular logo that says "THE SALVATION ARMY" along the top edge, "U.S.A." along the bottom edge, and "WAR SERVICE" across the middle. The pages contain a mixture of text and photographic images (black and white) pertaining to The Salvation Army's involvement in the World War I (particularly The Salvation Army U.S.A.).Acquisition
