Scope and Content

Floyd Burdick's diploma received for having completed training, conferring that he is a Salvation Army Officer. Thin, white/cream paper with text and images printed in black. Larger title text reads "THE SALVATION ARMY". Above the title is an oval portrait of General William Booth. To the right of the portrait is a picture of a building (International Headquarters in London?) and to the left is a picture of a crowd gathered around four people who are kneeling at a drum and praying (with a Salvation Army and United States of America flag present). Printed towards the lower righthand corner of the diploma is the Salvation Army Crest, encircled by a life preserver. In the lower lefthand corner is a gold foil seal containing the Salvation Army Crest, with two red ribbons attached to the bottom. The certificate is filled out (handwritten) in dark ink.
