Scope and Content

Photo postcard. The black and white image depicts Envoy Eva Alice Springer, a Salvation Army War Service Worker, seated next to two crates which hold a hand crank sewing machine and sewing supplies. She wears a World War I Salvation Army War Service uniform and a tape measure is draped around her neck. She holds a United States Army tunic. Near her feet is the dark dome shaped lid to the sewing machine placed on its side. A Salvation Army Red Shield logo has been superimposed on top of the dark lid. Additional fabric rests on the lid. To her right a United States Army soldier stands wearing an overseas fabric cap, blouse, pants, puttees, and boots. The two are located outside of a damaged building.
