The letter is addressed to "CADET CECIL BURDICK,/ FRANCE." from John Fynn, "LT. COLONEL./ SECRETARY FOR FIELD AFFAIRS.", with the salutation "MY DEAR COMRADE:". The letter is from John Fynn, "LT. COLONEL./ SECRETARY FOR FIELD AFFAIRS."
