Description

Black and white horizontal photograph of a stone monument and four people standing in front of a small white building. There is one man (left) and three women, all in civilian clothing. The white building has a shingle roof, two doors, and a 12-pane window, and there is shrubbery along its perimiters. In the foreground, in front of the people and the building is a tall, rectangluar stone monument with a relief on the front of it. The relief shows a figure (female?) with long, wavy hair, standing behind and holding a long scroll or tablet of some sort, that goes down to his/her feet. The scroll/tablet has a large, 5-point star relief at the top with text down to the bottom (perhaps a list?). Written on the back of the photograph in black ink is the date "3/20/38". There is also what looks like a 3-digit number (partially illegible - [9?] [6 or 8] [9] stamped on the back. This number is crossed out in pencil and written above it is a 3-digit number (partially illegible - [0 or 6] [7 or 2] [9]).
