Photo shows principles in ceremony at opening of Omaha's Tree of Lights. The Tree theoretically held 400 blue blubs (sic), each representing one hundred dollars. The downtown Optimist club turned on the first five lights and later on in the campaign added another fifty lights. Shown in the photo left to right: Eldon Severin, President downtown Optimist Joe Sharp, "Kettle Day" Chairman Inez Lauderback, Women's Division Chairman Clarence Landen, Honorary Chairman of Advisory Board Lt. Colonel Raymond Johnson, Divisional Commander Mr. R.M. "Mac" Read shown turning on the first light is chairman of the Optimist "Kettle Day" drive.
