Photo, adhered onto hard paper mount, of the Joseph and Mary Sheppard family. The studio name has been cut off but was printed along the bottom edge of the photo. The image depicts Joseph Sheppard, in the center, with his two older sons, Joseph Stanley & John William, standing on either side. Mary Sheppard is seated in the front with her daughter Lucy on her right (photo left) and youngest son, Francis "Frank" on her left. Joseph is wearing his Salvation Army uniform and is holding a cornet. The boys, both wearing Salvation Army sweaters, are also holding brass horns. Lucy Sheppard is in a uniform and bonnet and is holding a tambourine in her lap. Mary, in her uniform and bonnet, is holding a book in her lap.
