The bandsmen are playing brass horns and have a drum section. Behind the band is a group of girls dressed in Girl Guard uniforms. Cars are parked at the curb and driving behind the group. Some of the businesses visible are Doubleday Hunt-Dolan Co (foreground, right), Arthur's Department Store and Uptown Theater. The theater has two movies listed on the marquee, one of which is The Time of Your Life starring James Cagney.
