Description

Photo of a Salvation Army Emergency Canteen deployed to the site of a fire. Seven firemen cluster around the open window of the vehicle where coffee cups are lined up. A volunteer inside the truck can be seen pointing at the cups. The back door of the canteen is open. In the background, thick smoke boils up into the sky and the skeletons of buildings are visible. People, possibly firefighters, can be seen on the left and a stream of water is being cast on the fire. Railroad tracks slice across the foreground. The back of the photo has the photographer's stamp: Bud Bertog, 1515 West Norwood, Chicago, Illinois, 60626.
