Description

Photo taken near Monroe Street and Michigan Avenue, looking across the Grant Park rail yards in Chicago, Illinois. Several iconic Chicago landmarks can be seen in the distance, including the Wrigley building in the center with its clocktower, the Tribune Building to its right, and just behind the Tribune Building is the Sheridan (now Intercontinental) Hotel with its beehive top. In the foreground, freight cars are lined up on the tracks with trucks and sheds surrounding them. The photograph is attributed to B.R. Houts, who worked for The Salvation Army Central Territory headquarters.
