Description

United States Army Air Force Pilot winged pin, c. World War II era. Silver-colored metal. At the center of the pin is the american flag shield. Coming out of the right and left side of the crest is a pair of wings. The hardware is attached to the back of the pin. Badges like these were first made on January 25, 1919. This badge was possibly related to Grace Burdick's son's World War II service. He was a bombardier and radio gunner and received the silver star for his missions in China in 1942. These may have been wings of friends.
