Description

Unites States Air Force Navigator pin, c. World Ward II era. Silver-colored metal. At the center is a round globe. A pair of wings are coming out of the globe, one wing from the left and one from the right. The pin hardware is attached to the back. Stamped into the back is "BALFOUR/ STERLING" Badges like these were first made on Septemeber 4, 1942. This badge is possibly related to Grace Burdick Goodwin's son's World War II service. He was a bombardier and radio gunner and received the silver star for his missions in China in 1942. These may have been wings of friends.
