Round wood plaque, painted red around the edges. The front of the plaque is painted teal with painted yellow text in Russian: Home League The Salvation Army, surrounding a Home League logo. The logo is of a small home, with a red roof and shutters and yellow accents, on top of an open book with a red bookmark protruding from the pages.
A label adhered to the back of the plaque has a handwritten note: Presented to Commissioner Betty Hinson with love from Russia! Majors Camie & Jacob Bender. A member of the Bender family confirmed that the note was written by Camie Bender. The dark blue and white label has The Salvation Army crest in the upper right corner with the text printed in Russian. A block of Russian language text in dark blue along the lower edge translates to The Salvation Army. The label is adhered over a handwritten message on the plaque which is addressed to Major & Mrs. Bender, acknowledging that was originally gifted to the Benders.
