Scope and Content

Photo postcard. The black and white photo depicts the recreation room inside the U.S.O Club, 346 Waukegan Ave., Highwood, Illinois. Several ping-pong tables are set up in the center of the room and a bowling game is seen in the foreground. Two soldiers are playing pool at a table in the background. Artwork, presumably done by service members, hangs on the wall above them. A caption, "U.S.O. operated by The Salvation Army, 346 Waukegan Ave., Highwood, ILL" is printed in white along the bottom edge. The production number, J-4, is printed on the lower right corner. The back of the postcard has "POST CARD" printed across the top center in a stencil style font. "Correspondence" is printed underneath to the left and "Address" to the right, both in a smaller font. The stamp box in the upper right corner has a dotted line around the edges with EKC printed across the top line.
