The content of the booklet is an article written by Jennie S. Owen that was published in The El Dorado Times on March 21, 1925. The title of the article is " 'But, There Isn't Much To Tell,' Says 'Ma' Burdick Winner of Croix De Guerre ". The last page includes a section titled "The Salvation Army.", which explains what the organization is and does in a short paragraph. The cover of the booklet is made from a cream cardstock paper. There is a thin, decorative line border printed in black ink on the front cover. Inside the border, centered at the top, is the text "THE STORY OF/ 'MA' BURDICK/ BY JENNIE S. OWEN" printed in black ink.
