Description

Color transparency (photographic slide) of the Nyando Escarpment, a geological feature forming the northern wall of Kivirondo Rift Valley. It is also a natural boundary between Kisumu County in the valley below and Nandi County on the high plateau. A thatched roof home can be seen in a clearing among the trees and a higher, bluish-green ridgeline rises in the background.
