Description
Trench art rose pin/brooch, circa 1914-1918. Likely made from bullets and/or shell casings. It is a three-dimensional, stemless rose with three layers of petals. Where the stem of the rose would be is the flat base of the broosh with a metal pin attached.
The term "trench art" was coined during World War I to describe decorative artwork produced by soldiers, prisoners of war and civilians during or in response to times of armed conflict or its aftermath.
