Man's Salvation Army uniform tunic (occupational uniform coat). Tunic is long with waist seam, cut in a frock coat style. Tunic body is made of navy blue wool with fabric covered buttons. Interior is lined with navy blue rayon or similar fabric. Closes at center front with five fabric covered buttons and two hook and eyes. Tunic has an attached stand up collar with black braid trim and Salvation Army insignia. Insignia are composed of a lozenge shaped blue wool felt patch on which the letter "S" and the Salvation Army USA eagle crest (in use 1880-1976) are stitched in metallic bullion tread. Insignia appear on each side of center front, centered horizontally on the collar. Shoulders feature blue epaulets with black braid trim fastened at top edge with fabric covered button. Sleeves have black braid with blue insert trim. Collar and sleeve trim indicate that the wearer is a Salvation Army officer (ordained minister) and had The Salvation Army rank of either staff-captain or major. Insignia patterns date from c. 1914-1948.
