World War I uniform jacket, officially known as the M1917 Wool Service Coat, also called a tunic. The olive drab coat is wool and has a standup collar, four patch pockets (two breast, two hip), and brass buttons stamped with the US eagle insignia. A chevron patch on the right side indicates a rank of Sergeant. On the left arm are a Caduceus insignia patch indicating the soldier was part of the medical support corps and then a single red chevron is stitched below that, indicating a rank of Private First Class (PFC) in the medical support corps. The other double chevron seen on the left cuff indicates the soldier served at least 12 months overseas.Acquisition
