28,013 - OFFERING BANNER TO PROMOTE SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS GIVING
Not so long ago, Sunday School classes in churches were intergenerational in make-up. Class leaders would challenge other class leaders in the same church to encourage their members to be creative in giving on special occasions or throughout the year by class. Giving statistics were kept by confidential local church leaders and at the end of the year, gold-framed silk banners were ordered or made to share with adult peers to honor their giving, class by class.
Classes that raised the most funds or other set standards, were presented with banners to hang outside of their class rooms at the church to honor the giving intent of the members of the winning class competition.
