4004 - GOD'S TITHE BOX

Description

4004 - GOD'S TITHE BOX. This is a 4 inch by approximately 7 inch treen wood and wood-burned box to save for a future tithing Sunday. The box has in-laid wood design, and lettering on top face with a scripture and phrase reference. Interlaid wood on top and around the sides indicates professional wood working skills of the maker. There is a compartment for coins and separately for paper money to be stored. Tithe boxes like this were manufactured and sold to churches to distribute to attending townspeople. Used by parents and children, in this manner, the box would serve as a home reminder to put away a portion of income to bring to church
