The Agfa Synchro Box is a classic medium format box camera and one of the most successful post-WWII consumer cameras in Europe. It features a fixed-focus Meniscus lens and a simple rotary shutter with two settings: "M" for instantaneous (approx. 1/30s) and "B" for bulb exposures. A key technical feature is the two-pin flash synchronization socket on the side, which allowed it to be used with the Agfa Agfalux flashgun—a significant advancement for entry-level box cameras of the era. The front plate often features a distinctive "star" or "sunburst" pattern surrounding the lens. It includes a built-in yellow filter (activated by a sliding tab) to enhance cloud contrast in black and white photography, and a small aperture tab to switch between f/11 and f/16. Its robust metal construction and ease of use made it a staple for family snapshots for over a decade.
