StandardDescription
New FD (nFD) 50mm f/1.8 they are the backbone of the Canon FD system. This specific unit (Serial #7330405) appears to be in excellent condition, with the distinctive purple-blue multi-coating clearly visible on the front glass element. Technically, this lens is the "plastic-mount" version of the nFD line. Canon updated the design in the 1980s to use high-quality engineering plastics for the barrel and mount, making it significantly lighter than the earlier metal versions without sacrificing optical quality. It is a "standard" lens because its 50mm focal length approximates the field of view of the human eye, providing a natural perspective with zero distortion. In the front-facing photo, you can see the 5-blade aperture diaphragm. For a lens that is nearly 40 years old, the blades look remarkably dry and free of oil—a common issue that can cause "lazy" aperture response. This lens is perfectly matched for your AE-1, AE-1 Program, or T50, and its compact size makes it a great "all-day" lens for travel.Category
