StandardDescription
The Canon Speedlite 200E was designed as a compact, lightweight companion for the early EOS autofocus SLR system (such as the EOS 650 or EOS Rebel series). It represents a shift towards fully automated flash photography; unlike the older Vivitar or Minolta flashes in your collection that require manual calculation or dials, the 200E relies entirely on the camera's TTL (Through-The-Lens) metering. There isn't even an exposure table on the back—just a simple power switch and a "ready" light.
Technically, this flash features an integrated AF-assist beam (the red window on the front), which projects a grid of infrared light to help the camera focus in total darkness. It is a "near-instant" recycle flash, powered by four standard AAA batteries.Made/Created
