WorkhorseDescription
A fascinating "trick" camera designed to mimic the silhouette of a professional Single Lens Reflex (SLR) system. While the top features a "pentaprism" hump and the lens barrel is oversized, both are hollow plastic deceptions; the actual lens is a tiny, fixed-aperture plastic element hidden behind a facade. To add to the illusion of quality, these cameras often contained lead weights inside the base to give the user the "heft" of a real professional tool. Also known as a scammera.Category
