IconicDescription
Introduced in 1965 alongside the Kodak Instamatic line, the Flashcube was a major leap in convenience. Each cube contains four individual bulbs, each with its own tiny built-in reflector. When the photographer winds the film, the camera mechanically rotates the cube 90° to a fresh bulb. These are Standard Flashcubes, which require an electrical connection through the camera to fire (unlike the later "Magicubes" which were triggered mechanically). The packaging features a heartwarming photo of a granddaughter and grandfather, reinforcing the "family memories" branding that dominated 1960s photography.Made/Created
