WorkhorseDescription
This accessory served a dual purpose during the era of magnesium-filled glass flashbulbs. First, it acted as a safety shield; early flashbulbs could occasionally shatter or "explode" upon ignition, and this sleeve protected subjects from flying glass. Second, it acted as a light modifier. One side was clear for maximum light output, while the other was frosted or diffuse to soften the harsh light for close-up photography and portraits. It was designed to fit over the reflectors of various Kodak flash units, such as the Kodalite or Supermatic.Made/Created
