Description
The X-45 is a high-spec model from Kodak’s 126 Instamatic line. The "X" in the name signifies that it was designed for Magicubes—flashcubes that fired mechanically without the need for a battery. This specific artifact is the "Color Outfit" box, which would have originally included the camera, a wrist strap, one Magicube, and a roll of Kodacolor-X film. The X-45 featured an electric-eye exposure control and a spring-motor film advance, allowing the user to take up to 20 shots in rapid succession by simply holding down the shutter button. The box art is a prime example of Kodak's bold 1970s graphic design, featuring the overlapping "X" and "45" in a vibrant red, yellow, and black palette.
