Description

This set represents the mid-century peak of Kodak’s professional slide film ecosystem. Kodachrome II was the successor to the original 1935 emulsion, offering improved speed (ASA 25) and even finer grain. Crucially, this film utilizes the K-12 process, which was superseded by K-14 in 1974, making this an older and rarer variant than the Kodachrome 25 previously cataloged. The accompanying aluminum screw-top canister with the embossed Kodak logo and green lid is a highly collectible accessory in its own right. Before the switch to plastic "snap-top" containers in the 1970s, these light-tight metal vessels were the gold standard for protecting latent images from heat and moisture. Together, they form a perfect tactile record of the era when Kodachrome was the undisputed king of color photography.
