Description

This is a standalone example of the Kodalite Flasholder, the primary lighting accessory for the Brownie Hawkeye and other Kodak cameras of the 1950s. It features a large, highly polished aluminum reflector designed to maximize the light output of single-use flashbulbs. A key feature of this specific unit is the original yellow instruction label on the back, which provides a detailed exposure guide for Kodak films like Verichrome Pan and Kodacolor. It currently holds a vintage blue-coated Sylvania flashbulb, which was color-corrected for use with daylight-balanced color film. The unit connects to the camera via a two-pin "prong" system that both physically supports the flash and completes the electrical firing circuit when the shutter is pressed.
