Description

The Nikon D80 was a powerhouse in the mid-2000s, borrowing the high-resolution 10.2MP CCD sensor from the professional D200 while maintaining a more compact, consumer-friendly body. It is highly regarded for its large, bright pentaprism viewfinder—a significant step up from the dimmer pentamirrors found in entry-level DSLRs—and its inclusion of an internal focus motor, allowing it to autofocus with older "D" series lenses like the 50mm f/1.8D mounted here. This specific unit shows evidence of heavy real-world use, with noticeable dust in the crevices and a BM-7 LCD cover that has protected the screen over the years. As one of the last Nikons to feature a CCD sensor, it remains a favorite for photographers who prefer that sensor's specific color science over modern CMOS alternatives.
