The 70–210mm f/4 is the "crown jewel" of the Series E line. While most Series E lenses were designed for compactness and budget, this telephoto zoom was a significant optical achievement, featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout the entire zoom range. It uses a "one-touch" push-pull design, where the large rubberized barrel is pushed forward to zoom in and rotated to focus. A standout feature is its "macro" capability at the 70mm end, allowing focus down to roughly 2 feet (0.56m). This lens was so well-regarded that Nikon later reused its optical formula for their first-ever autofocus telephoto zoom (the AF Nikkor 70-210mm f/4). This unit is in excellent condition, showing the classic orange and blue depth-of-field scales that make vintage Nikon glass so aesthetically pleasing.
