Description

A brand new, unused example of the Polaroid 35mm AutoProcessor, complete with its original packaging and manual. Launched in 1983, this device was a marvel of portability, allowing for the development of specialized 35mm transparency film in just minutes without a darkroom. The system worked by loading a roll of exposed Polaroid 35mm film alongside a proprietary "processing pack" (which contained the developing chemistry) into the unit. By turning the manual hand crank, the user pressed the film and the chemistry strip together to initiate development. Because the film was developed "dry," the slides could be mounted and projected immediately after a brief drying period. While standard 35mm film cannot be processed in this machine, it remains a vital tool for experimental photographers using "expired" Polachrome or PolaPan stocks. In its never-used state, it represents the pinnacle of Polaroid's efforts to merge traditional 35mm SLR photography with their signature instant results.
