This is a classic American-made tripod from the mid-century era. Royal Manufacturing Co., based in Chicago, was a prolific producer of photography accessories during the boom of the amateur camera market after WWII. This unit features a distinct Art Deco-influenced "stepped" design on the side of the tilt head. It utilizes a standard 1/4" mounting screw with a knurled thumbwheel to secure the camera. The legs are telescopic, designed to collapse into a compact size for travel.
