InterestingDescription
Released in 2006, the DSC-S500 was an entry-level "S-series" Cyber-shot that prioritized affordability and ease of use. While the "W-series" Sony we just logged (the pink W350) focused on ultra-slim style and lithium batteries, the S500 used a thicker body to accommodate 2x AA batteries. This made it a favorite for travelers who didn't want to carry a specialized charger. It features a 6.0-megapixel Super HAD CCD sensor and a 2.4-inch LCD screen. While it lacked the Carl Zeiss optics of its more expensive siblings, its 3x optical zoom was respectable for a budget-friendly family camera.Category
