StandardDescription
This camera is a classic example of a "subscription premium," given away as a free gift to new subscribers of TIME Magazine during the 1980s. While it is styled to resemble a professional SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera, it is actually a very simple plastic viewfinder camera. It features a fixed-focus 50mm f/6 "Lavec Optical Glass Lens" and a single shutter speed. These cameras were produced in large quantities in Taiwan and Hong Kong and are often referred to as "trashcam" or "toy cameras" today, valued for the unpredictable, lo-fi quality of the images they produce.Category
