Description

The Vivitar 2000 is a compact, straightforward electronic flash unit that was widely popular as an affordable alternative to more complex, bulky professional flashes. It was designed to be a "pocketable" light source for everyday photography, making it a common companion for amateur SLR and rangefinder users. The unit features a 90° tilting head, allowing you to "bounce" the light off a ceiling to create softer, more natural illumination—a significant upgrade over fixed-head flashes. On the back, it features a comprehensive exposure table for Manual use, alongside an Auto mode. In Auto mode (indicated by the blue circle), a sensor on the front of the flash measures reflected light and cuts the burst once the subject is sufficiently illuminated, provided you have your lens set to the f-stop indicated for your film's ISO.
