Description

Flash cubes were a revolutionary improvement over individual flashbulbs when introduced in 1965, packaging four single-use bulbs into a rotating cube that advanced automatically after each shot on compatible Instamatic-style cameras. Each cube delivered four flashes before being discarded, and a box of three cubes provided 12 total flashes. The original Benny's retail price tag, - marked down to 99 cents from $1.49, - is a wonderfully authentic detail that grounds this piece in its era. Benny's was a beloved New England retail chain, adding a nice regional character to this otherwise everyday consumable item
