Description

Six full blocks each with four tulips with cheddar "X" stems. Two tone rose at center of "X." Four double floral buds on the "t" axis. There are rolling vines with leaves and flowers on three sides. Feathers are quilted on block seams.

Context

This was a family heirloom from Staunton, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. The story that accompanies this quilt stated that the quilt was hidden in the walls of the Kerr family house during the Civil War to keep Union soldiers from finding it.
