Description

The quilt was made using new/purchased fabric. There is a single, pieced border (4 1/2'' wide). Alternating sunburst with a butterscotch block. The border is an hourglass with brown and prussian blue. The binding is a true, applied binding with squared corners. The binding on the front was done first and is 1/8'' with a red and white grid. The back binding is 3/8''. The back is a muslin, but appears to be several different muslins. The entire quilt is hand-quilted using single, cotton thread. There are two color of thread used, white and brown, to match the block pattern. The starburst blocks include echo outline quilting, but there is also diagonal straight line quilting and hour glass quilting. The stitches are uneven, but measure about 7-8 stitches per inch.
