Hand pieced and hand quilted small template Grandmother's Flower Garden made with an assortment of 1930's prints. Top and bottom of quilt are straight-edge while the sides are scalloped.
Total of 289 whole blocks and 17 half blocks. Set into a diagonal/on point pattern with no borders. Binding is white and 1/4'' wide. It has been applied by hand with rounded corners. The backing is made up of 3 pieces of cotton fabric, measuring 20.25'', 33.5'', and 32.5''. The batting is thin cotton.
The entire quilt is hand quilted using single, white, cotton thread. It follows the top design; each hexagon contains quilting around/within each hexagon.Context
This quilt came from the estate of Ida Nell Watson, whose family roots trace back to the family of President Harrison.Collection
