Hand pieced and hand quilted large hexagon "flowers" with a white "path." The flower centers are all from the same fabric which also match the binding.Context
This quilt was donated by the estate of Barbara Brent. Brent was the granddaughter of George Sipe, the last private owner of the Warren-Sipe House which is the current location of the Virginia Quilt Museum.
Previously it was believed that this quilt was made for the birth of a granddaughter of Mr. Sipe, yet the fabrics in the quilts date after the birth of his children. Therefore it is possible the quilt is made out of their childhood clothing instead.Collection

Possible makers could have been the mother of the donor, Enid Sipe, who was the only child of George Sipe and his second wife Marien Mulliken. Marien, the donor's grandmother, could have been the other possible maker of the quilt.Dimensions
