Nine Baltimore Album blocks are set side by side into a 3x3 configuration with 1 1/4 inch sashing and dark brown cornerstones. Each block is bordered with 1/4 inch red. There are 9 unique blocks that include a ship, wreaths and urns of flowers. These blocks feature traditional applique, reverse applique, fabric manipulation, stuffed work, and hand embroidery. Each of the 9 blocks are set ingot a grid pattern with tan 1 1/4'' sashing. The sashing is quilted to pattern in fussy cut fabric. The border is 3 1/2'' wide and features an undulating vine of ivy leaves with floral buttons. The vine is couched wool. The quilt is finished with a pieced sawtooth. Th edge is 1/4 inch wide applied green cotton with mitered corners.
The backing is 1 piece of print, tan, cotton fabric. The batting is a thin cotton.
Finely hand quilted by Emily Martin (maker). Blocks and border feature 1/4 inch crosshatch. Crossed pumpkin seeds are quilted in the cornerstones. Stitches measure 8 stitches per inch and used single, cotton, cream thread.Made/Created
