Hand pieced and hand quilted with vertical bars of floral fabric print.
Each strip is about 4 1/2-5'' wide, alternating between white and printed floral fabric. Additional 2'' wide strips feature half square triangles to create a "sawtooth bar." An extra strip of fabric is added along the bottom, but not the top.
A single, pieced 2'' border of half square triangles surrounds the quilt. It is made up of the same fabric as the rest of the quilt. Extensive trapunto feather swags and floral motifs make up the white sashing. The rest of the quilt is hand quilted at 9 stitches per inch in straight diagonal lines (changes direction along the top).
The batting is a medium, cotton. A knife edge binding finishes the quilt. There are 3 vertical pieces of muslin on the back.Context
