Four block appliqué on extensively quilted white field. Red and green alternating feather motif arranged with nautical star or compass in center. Nautical star repeated in center of quilt. The four blocks form a grid pattern, where the blocks mirror each other. A single white border (6 1/2-3/4'' wide) surrounds the Princess Feather blocks. A white binding (1/2'' wide) with squared corners was applied by machine. It was likely added later and appears to possibly be bias tape.
The back of the quilt contains 3 vertical strips of cotton. There is a medium cotton batting.
The entire quilt is hand quilted with white thread. The quilting within each block contains multiple motifs, such as flowers, hearts, and leaves. The quilting in the border contains double lines, which create diamonds set on diagonal. There are also feather plumes that frame each block.
